Porsche is preparing the next generation 911 (998) and the first test mule of the Turbo version has been spotted testing. The car will get the full 998 treatment including more upright headlights. One of the more peculiar elements from this spy shot is the door mirrors mounted directly on the door body, which has not yet been seen on any other 998. At Los Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes announced the 2010 GLK350 will go on sale in early 2009 at a price of $34,750. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4Matic model will start at $36,750, including shipping. Earlier this month BMW showed a teaser video of its go-fast parts for the 3-Series, but now the full reveal is out from the German carmaker. The new upgrades for the 3-Series sedan includes a new body kit, new carbon fiber mirror covers, side stripes, carbon fiber trunk lid, exhaust system, brakes, and 5-spoke alloy wheels. Lotus Evora made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The new sports car will go into production in the first-quarter of 2009 with U.S. deliveries to begin in November or December of next year. The first rumors about a Spider version of the 599 GTB appeared back in 2007. Now AutoGespot received some delayed spy images of a possible variation to the 599 GTB Fiorano. This shot isn't exactly fresh. The photographer took this last summer and didn't know what he may have had. What the photographer did notice was the cut in the roofline at the A-pillar. Why else would a select few decide to get the their Lamborghini key fob studded with over two carats worth of diamonds? The lightweight nature of Lotus cars is starting to make it a favorite of the electric crowd. The Tesla Roadster is based on the Lotus Elise, and Dodge's EV is a thinly rebadged Lotus Europa with a battery pack. Maserati has a lot on its plate for a small car manufacturer. AC Schnitzer, the known German tuner, is the first tuner unveiling a new body kit for the refreshed 2009 BMW 3-Series. Its new kit includes a front lip spoiler, new side sills, a roof spoiler, rear trunk spoiler (for the sedan version) and a new set of wheels. Replicas are fun cars when they pay tribute to great cars. Porsche Speedster replicas are a good example. They use almost original parts (junkyard VW Beetles) and create a replica of a beautiful car for very little money. Things start to go a little bad when people take the never-loved but always underpowered Pontiac Fiero and TRY to make it look like a Ferrari. It's hard to have cool police cruiser in the U.S. We arrest so many people that we need full-size cars with full-size back seats. The big V8s may make the cars fast, but the big sedans always have a somewhat Grandmamobile look to them. In fact, the last cool cruiser belonged to Jake and Ellwood. That's why European cops are cooler. Last month we saw Italy get a Gallardo LP560-4 as a Police car, and now here's the Volkswagen Scirocco dressed up in "blues and twos" form for the Essen Motor (...)

When it comes to supercars, there's never enough horsepower. That's what sent the tuning house PPI back to the drawing board. Last year it bolted a supercharger to the Audi R8 to make the R8 Razor, now it back with MORE POWER. It wasn't a hard equation for PPI to get more from the R8; it just added a a bigger supercahrger. That's combined with a ram air system and a new exhaust system to make 580 hp (up from the R8's standard 420 hp.) All this should drop the 0-60 mph time by over half (...)
